Stream Voice of America radio to your phone for free
VOA Mobile Streamer is not an app that will let you stream video or audio from your phone or tablet (this is generally difficult). It is, rather, an app that streams Voice of America radio broadcasts to your phone. It provides access to hundreds of radio programs on demand, as well as to current, live broadcasts, all in many different languages.
Low cost, high reward
Though VOA's programming is centered around America, it is available in more than 40 different languages. A handful of these languages are only available for the app's radio on demand, but even the live broadcasts are available in dozens of different languages. Additionally, VOA attempts to add new languages regularly (as of this writing, Persian language support is being added). The app also features a low-bandwidth mode to allow users to save on data costs if they choose to listen while on the go. You can also share individual broadcasts you enjoyed on Facebook, Twitter and elsewhere, making VOA Mobile Streamer a fantastic all-around app.
Nearly perfect for what it does
Despite occasional hiccups and the fact some languages are not supported, VOA Mobile Streamer is a good app for anyone looking to listen to VOA broadcasts (or just looking for any sort of radio broadcast to listen to) while mobile.
